A historic event took place in New Delhi/India, February 5-6, 2007, when Hindu and Jewish religious leaders met for the first time for a two-day dialogue on a range of subjects. His Holiness Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda also took part in the event as a member of the Hindu delegation. Jewish delegation, led by Israel's Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger, included 20 Rabbis from Israel and the diaspora.

This year's festival is the Ardh (half) Kumbha Mela, but despite of its name it still drew millions of spiritual seekers to the confluence of Ganges, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati rivers. Hindu belief has it that one’s sins are purified by a dip in these holy waters, thereby liberating him.

On July 10 1976, His Holiness Swamiji has kindled the Eternal Light in Vienna/Austria, on the altar in Mahaprabhuji's ashram in Schikanedergasse and it has been burning continuously ever since, already for three decades.

The 5th World Peace Summit (titled "The Message of His Holiness Swami Madhavananda & Mahatma Gandhi") took place in Ljubljana/Slovenia (Europe) during October 13th to 15th, 2006. This was one of the most significant and historic international events held this year for World Peace, the Environment, Health and Youth.

Since 1981, September 21 is established as the International Day of Peace. Yoga in Daily Life participates as well with various initiatives to involve people in fostering the culture of peace.

After a long period of drought, heavy monsoon rains have flooded major states across India and displaced thousands of people. The devastation people and animals face is overwhelming. His Holiness Swamiji has issued a call for help for the victims of the flood.

His Holiness Swamiji, the founder of the international movement "Yoga in Daily Life" was making his yearly visit to his disciples in America. After visiting Atlanta and attending a United Nations Conference on sustainable development in New York, he spent four days conducting yoga classes at the Yoga in Daily Life centre in Alexandria, the American headquarters of Yoga in Daily Life, which has branches also in Atlanta and New York.

On September 6th 2006, His Holiness Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda attended the 59th Annual Conference for NGO's at the United Nations.

This year's Raksha Bandhan festival was celebrated on August 9th, the Shravana full-moon day. His Holiness Swamiji dedicated this festival to reviving of Honour, Dignity and Respect for Women. In the Upanishads it is said: Matri devo bhavaha – Mother is God. On the holy occasion of Raksha Bandhan we shall take a vow that all Women of the world should be happy.

As hoped for, Guru Punima in Jadan was very special. Thousands of people came together in an atmosphere soaked with joy and devotion. During the two day celebrations, Swamiji constantly gave of himself to all.
