Celebration of thirty years of the Eternal Light in Austria

On July 10 1976, His Holiness Swamiji has kindled the Eternal Light in Vienna/Austria, on the altar in Mahaprabhuji's ashram in Schikanedergasse and it has been burning continuously ever since, already for three decades. At the inauguration of the Guruji's ashram one year ago, this Eternal Light has been brought there, too. "When a light is burning for 12 years (a span of a "Mini-Yuga") without any interruption it gets a Siddhi (power) to fulfil spiritual and selfless wishes of those who come to this light with pure heart and mind. When you come to Vienna ashram and go near the altar you can feel the strong and pure radiation of the Eternal Light that pervades your heart with immense joy and happiness," said Swamiji.

On this occasion and exactly one year after the inauguration of Guruji's Ashram in Vienna (November 2005), His Holiness Swamiji planted a World Peace Lime-tree in one of the biggest and most beautiful parks of Vienna, the Türkenschanzpark. The peace-tree was planted together with the prefect of the 18th district of Vienna, Mr. Homole. In the evening Satsang Swamiji told: "Today there is a very good constellation - first because by Mahaprabhuji's blessing we are meeting together here in Guruji's ashram, and secondly because today we planted the World Peace Tree in Türkenschanzpark. When I started with yoga in Vienna, I lived very near this park, and I used to walk there nearly every day during my first ten years in Vienna. This Lime-Tree will be a beautiful symbol and evidence of my presence in Vienna for very long time because a tree has a longer life than human. A tree is a symbol of Life, and the candle that we lit is a symbol of the Atma. So, in this ceremony light and life came together – just on the occasion of the 30 years' celebration of our Vienna ashram."
